MECHANICAL ENGINEERING & DESIGN

Art & Design
Christie Bielmeier, PhD, is a Boston-based mixed media artist and design engineer whose innovative work blends abstract video art and science. With a focus on the evolving interplay between depths-of-field, she crafts abstract landscapes that challenge perception. Beginning her artistic journey with wood and watercolor abstractions, Christie has recently expanded her practice to include video art, applying the scientific method to her creative process. By day, she serves as a technical director, designing and testing mechanisms for a wide range of projects, from household devices to aerospace technology.
